Whole Wheat Pancakes

* 1 cup whole wheat flour * 2 tablespoons sugar * 1 teaspoon baking powder * 1/4 teaspoon salt * 1/2 cup milk * 1 egg, beaten * 1 tablespoon melted butter
1. In a large bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. 2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter. 3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and whisk until just combined. Do not overmix. 4. Heat a lightly oiled griddle or frying pan over medium heat. 5. Pour or scoop 1/4 cup of batter onto the griddle for each pancake. 6. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown. 7. Serve immediately with your favorite toppings.
